Jet Boating
Thanks to the passion of engineer Bill Hamilton New Zealand is today considered the capital of jetboating. The Boss’s inspiration to boat up shallow rivers was drawn from his childhood in the Mackenzie Basin of the South Island on the Waitaki River. He returned there in retirement and developed the jet pump as a practical and affordable means of boating in little more than a few cms of water.
Fifty years on, jetboaters all over the world enjoy the fruits of his early labour of love in various forms of commercial, adventure, and competitive river racing and jetsprinting.
